it amazes her sometimes how immune she’s grown to the woman’s biting comments . it doesn’t take a genius to see she’s fairly unimpressed when she tries to make her stop offering the comfort she’d found normal to provide given the circumstances —– so she doesn’t stop . she continues to rub smooth circles across the other’s back until she’s no longer tense & meets her gaze , moment in which her feature soften instantly . “ well . you could blame it on years of karma . or — “ she sighs , finally simply resting her hand on the other’s shoulder . “ you can accept that part of being good is finding the strength to stay that way when everything goes to crap . that’s the hardest part —– but if anyone can soldier through , it’s you . “
it was almost annoying to regina, the easy banter they fell into even when the topic was a bit heavy. granted, she had never really had a friend like emma before. for so long she wasn’t allowed to have friends, and once she finally obtained the freedom to do so, she harbored far too much hate and cynicism to find it at all necessary. needless to say, she was on edge, not really wanting to open up to her, but not really wanting to keep it in anymore. all she knew is that the so aptly nicknamed savior was the only one who had any faith in her, and that was more than she even deserved.
